Three people have been arrested and charged following a violent “housing unit takeover” at a Peterborough address: Peterborough Police

Three people are facing charges after an incident at a Peterborough residence Tuesday afternoon. 

At approximately 4:00pm on September 20, 2022, officers were called to the area of Talwood Drive and Whitefield Drive about a disturbance.  Upon arrival officers learned that the situation was a housing unit takeover in which the residents were being held against their will.  A male victim was taken to Peterborough Regional Health Centre for treatment of various injuries.   Officers contained the scene and called out to the people inside.  Three people exited the residence and were taken into custody. 

As a result,

An 18-year-old Peterborough woman was arrested and charged with:

  • Aggravated Assault
  • Forcible Confinement
  • Break, Enter a place – commit indictable offence

A 20-year-old Toronto man was arrested and charged with:

  • Aggravated Assault
  • Forcible Confinement
  • Break, Enter a place – commit indictable offence
  • Assault with A Weapon
  • Possession of Schedule I substance – cocaine

A 20-year-old Toronto man was arrested and charged with:

  • Aggravated Assault
  • Forcible Confinement
  • Break, Enter a place – commit indictable offence
  • Assault with A Weapon

All three accused were held in custody and will appear in court today, September 21, 2022.
