37-year-old arrested following armed robbery at a Bowmanville convenience store: Police

A 37-year-old suspect was arrested after an armed robbery at a convenience store in Bowmanville overnight.

On Monday, September 26, 2022, at approximately 5:25 p.m., members from East Division responded to an armed robbery at the Kings Milk convenience store on King Street East. The suspect, armed with a brick and a knife entered the store and made a demand for cash. A struggle ensued with the store employee and the suspect was held upon police arrival. A customer assisted the clerk in restraining the suspect.

The male clerk sustained serious but non-life threatening injuries, he was transported to a local hospital.

George LUND, age 37, of No Fixed Address is charged with: Robbery – Offensive Weapon; Aggravated Assault; Weapons Dangerous and Wear Disguise with Intent. He was held for a bail hearing.
