Campbellford woman arrested after veering towards a group of people and later striking a male who was sent to hospital: Peterborough Police

A 26-year-old Campbellford woman wanted on a warrant was arrested Monday afternoon. 

At approximately 5:30pm on September 26, 2022, the accused was located and arrested for dangerous operation and failing to stop at accident resulting in bodily harm in connection with two incidents over the weekend.  Peterborough Police thank the public for their assistance in this matter.

At approximately 3:00am on Sunday, September 25, 2022, officers were called to a residence after reports a vehicle was driven at a group of people.  It was further reported the driver got out and started swinging a bat at several women.  A short time later a second call came into 9-1-1 about a vehicle being driven erratically in the George Street and Lake Street area and a male being struck by a vehicle.  The male was taken to Peterborough Regional Health Centre for treatment.

Further to the charges on the warrant, the 26-year-old Campbellford woman was also charged with:

  • Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purposes (the bat)
  • Dangerous Operation causing bodily harm
  • Assault with A Weapon
  • Abandoning Child X2 (two young children were in the vehicle at the time of the incidents)

The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court today, September 27, 2022.
