Driver arrested for impaired driving following two collisions: Peterborough Police

A 31-year-old Peterborough man is facing impaired charges after an incident Monday morning.

At approximately 10:00 am on October 3, 2022, officers were called about a collision at Towerhill Road and Chemong Road.  A concerned motorist followed the vehicle as it left the scene and called police.  Officers received a third call about the vehicle but were unable to locate it in the area.  A short time late, officers were able to locate the vehicle in the Bethune Street and Aylmer Street after it had been involved in another collision.  No one was injured in the collisions.

As a result of the investigation, a 31-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

  • Failure to stop after accident
  • Operation while impaired – drugs
  • Drive motor vehicle, no currently validated permit (Highway Traffic Act)
  • Driving while under suspension (Highway Traffic Act)

The accused was issued an automatic 90-day license suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment.

The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court November 3, 2022.
