GoFundMe campaign launched in support of the 4-year-old struck by a vehicle in Norwood

A GoFundMe campaign has been launched in support of the family of a 4-year-old that was critically injured after being struck by a vehicle outside of the Norwood Fair, Monday evening.

The child laid lifeless on the road as off-duty nurses and first aiders ran to her aid. Her father reported that the driver fled the scene but was located a short distance away by OPP.

When paramedics arrived at the scene, they were able to find a pulse, and rushed her to an area hospital. She was later airlifted to a Toronto area trauma Centre. According to the GoFundMe, her injuries include a fractured skull, extensive brain injuries, a laceration on her liver and her little body beaten and bruised.

Over 475 people have donated to the campaign with donations being accepted to help with the cost of traveling between Toronto and home. The family has two other children to care and expect the cost of travel to be “astronomical”.
