Special weather statement issued for Northumberland County

Environment Canada has issued a public weather warning for most of south-western Ontario, including Northumberland County.

Strong southerly winds are expected to develop ahead of a cold front this afternoon, continuing into this evening, along with the possibility for showers or thunderstorms.

Wind gusts of 70 to 90 km/h are expected which could damage soft shelters, tents, awnings and outdoor equipment. High winds could also result in power outages and fallen tree branches.
