Driver arrested following fail-to-remain collision in City of Kawartha Lakes: OPP

Members of the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested a driver and their passenger after failing to remain at the scene of a collision and damaging a police cruiser.

Shortly after noon on October 21, 2022 officers were dispatched to fail to remain collision downtown Fenelon Falls. Officers located the vehicle which subsequently backed up into a police cruiser. Further investigation revealed the driver to be impaired. No one was injured in either collision.

The 36-year-old male driver was charged with;

  • Fail to Remain,
  • Driving motor vehicle with open container or liquor
  • Operation while impaired- blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released on an undertaking with a future court date at Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay.
