Stolen vehicle recovered following traffic complaint in Trenton: OPP

Officers from the Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged one person following the report of an erratic vehicle travelling east bound on Highway 401 Sunday afternoon. 

On November 6, 2022, at approximately 2:30 p.m., Quinte West OPP officers were alerted to the report of a vehicle driving erratically on Highway 401 near Trenton-Frankford Road. The vehicle was described as a grey 2021 Dodge Ram 1500 TRX. Quinte West OPP officers observed a similar vehicle travelling southbound on Trenton-Frankford Road and conducted a traffic stop in the area of Lock 1 of the Trent-Severn Waterway. Police investigation revealed that the vehicle was reported stolen in Kitchener earlier that day and the driver was subsequently arrested.

Jonathan POIRIER, 49 years old of Montreal, Quebec, was charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on December 29, 2022.
