Driver charged with dangerous operation after pedestrian narrowly escapes getting struck: Quinte West OPP

The Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged the driver of a vehicle following a collision where a pedestrian narrowly avoided being struck.

On November 19, 2022, at approximately 11:30 a.m., Quinte West OPP responded to a report of a collision on Dundas Street East, just west of Marmora Street, where a westbound SUV left the roadway on a curve and narrowly missed colliding with a pedestrian on a sidewalk. The incident was captured on CCTV camera. 

Dale MACKINTOSH, 64 years old from Quinte West has been charged with dangerous driving.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on December 22, 2022.

Quinte West OPP are looking to speak with and identify the pedestrian involved, as they departed prior to police arrival. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Quinte West OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
