Northumberland County warns of potential disruption in waste collection in Port Hope, Alnwick/ Haldimand, and Hamilton Township due to forecasted weather conditions

Northumberland County is advising that residents may experience a possible disruption in waste and recycling collection tomorrow (January 5, 2023) due to forecasted weather conditions.

While efforts will be made to minimize disruptions to the collection schedule, some residents in the Municipality of Port Hope, Township of Hamilton and Township of Alnwick/Haldimand may experience a delay in their scheduled curbside waste and recycling collection tomorrow, if the forecasted freezing rain causes poor driving conditions.

In the event that your scheduled collection does not occur by 7 p.m. tomorrow, please remove your waste and recyclables from the curbside and place them out again on your next regularly scheduled collection day. If a delay occurs, curbside waste collection limits will be temporarily increased to four waste bags per household on the next scheduled collection day, in areas affected by the delay only.
